Demo Advance featuring tracks from the upcoming LP1 and LP2 respectively, contrasting a notorious difference in musical and genre influence.

No mixing, no master.

So as times have been rough since the last year, the albums needed to be a bit delayed so I could finish working with the concepts and recording some stuff in a better way, but here's some information about what's coming up:

Desierto florido is the second track from the upcoming LP1 from Ecologist. The music is mostly influenced by atmospheric black metal acts such as Blut Aus Nord, Mare Cognitum, and other different works that I've been listening to for many months. The concept of the album is the appreciation of the Chilean ecosystem by showing the big diversity of the country's marvelous places. The album has 9 songs and each represents one ecosystem, from deserts, ocean, lagoons, woods, etc. The album as a whole is a matter of appreciation and contemplation of nature.

At the Edge of the Evolutionary Cycle is the fifth track from the LP2, to be released after the LP1. The album is quite an experiment and I've been working on it since 2017. The album has various influences but most of the effort was on trying to make a death metal-ish Lurker of Chalice album, a grotesque odyssey of human and earth extinction. The album is a conceptual album that encapsulates fantasy from the origin of the universe, earth, and living organisms till their destruction and extinction.

The project has always been a musical experiment and this is just a small part of the results that have been achieved in terms of mere composition.

Je ne sais pas exactement comment traduire le titre Flying Ointment. Ma première hypothèse, c'est "Pommade qui donne la faculté de voler" et elle fait sens parce que le synthé a un rôle plus important ici et, malgré quelques phases cauchemardesques, les ambiances sont mystiques et libératrices. Mais, sachant que Old Nick prend un malin plaisir à rendre ce remède inaccessible, caché derrière un raw black metal technique (practitioner arrache tout !), il s'agit peut-être d'une "Pommade volante"... N'espérez pas voir les fastes et le luxe de la vie de château dans Witch Lymph : dans ce premier tour du propriétaire, le trio américain de Old Nick nous fait visiter les cryptes. Le raw black metal vampirique rebondit contre les murs épais et les synthés surannés percutent les barreaux des cellules. Peut-être que la guerre menée plus tard par Curta'n Wall, elle se fait contre le château d'Old Nick. En même temps, vu tout ce qui a l'air de se passer là-dedans, c'est peut-être pour le mieux... Les vampires ne sont pas que ces cadavres livides avides de sang sous toutes ses formes. Bon, c'est vrai, ils sont *surtout* ça. Mais pas que : ils peuvent avoir une personnalité complexe. Si vous êtes rebutés à l'idée de lire Twilight ou Petit Vampire pour en savoir plus, écouter Bloody Horror de Bloody Keep sera une bonne alternative. Si le raw black metal est toujours aussi fun, le vampire est désormais victime de son sort, obligé de vivre reclus — même la production est plus ténébreuse ! Jordan Vauvert
